AAC blocks are eco friendly replacement of red bricks and is used for masonry. They are so light that they can even float in water.
AAC Blocks are available in 2 variants : 1) Fly Ash based 2) Sand base.
Moreover, Fly ash based AAC blocks consists of 70% fly ash which makes it an eco friendly replacement of red clay bricks. Other ingredients are cement, lime, gypsum, aluminium powder.
Sand based blocks have density of 850 kg/m3 while fly ash based have 750 kg/m3. Both of them have almost same compressive strength i.e. 4MPa. Sand base blocks can be nailed/screwed easily as compared to fly ash blocks. In Saurashtra region, mostly fly ash based blocks are used.
Advantages against Red Bricks
AAC blocks have 600/625mm as their length, 200mm as their height and 75/100/150/200/225/230mm as their thickness.
